As we go through experiences in life, our bodies have an incredible capacity to remember those experiences. This empowers us to develop skills and abilities as we undergo activities, complete tasks etc. That ability to remember also applies to stressful and traumatic experiences that we go through, and our bodies will physically store the trauma from that experience. This is why we can hear something, see something or smell something that can cause us to instantly remember a traumatic experience, even if it occurred decades ago. Our body remembers very well what happened, and even if we choose to forgive someone or to mentally release resentment or anger towards a person or experience, our body does not forgive and it does not forget. It will hold onto that stored trauma until we undergo a physical means to facilitate its release.
Aligned yoga practice offers us an integrated way to remain healthy in our physical bodies. Oftentimes yogis focus on flexibility over stability, yet alignment before range is important to create balance and prevent injury. In this workshop, we will explore the movement of our physical bodies through yoga postures — where we may hold muscle weakness and tightness, and explore what key muscles stabilize our pelvis. In targeted actions, we will increase stability in our legs and spine, and improve our balance, which will, in turn reduce the risk of falling as we age.
All ages, all levels, all bodies welcome!!
Investment is $35.

Restorative Yoga is the use of props to support the body in positions of comfort and ease, to facilitate health and relaxation. Relaxation can be physiologically measured, and helps with long term functionality of the parasympathetic nervous system. Restorative Yoga is a way to trigger the parasympathetic response (PNS) for growth, repair, healing, better metabolism, proper digestion, and optimal immune functioning.
In this 8 hour Immersion, we will break down how to set up restorative postures with a new depth of awareness. We will explore different postures and different ways to support the body fully, and pay attention to the minute details, which make the most profound difference in the nervous system.
This course is geared toward yoga teachers and health care providers who wish to bring restorative techniques into their current practice, and for dedicated students who wish to go deeper into their understanding of restorative principles. You do not have to be a yoga teacher to participate!
Continuing education hours are available for Yoga Alliance Certified teachers.
Your guide, Kelly Haas, is a Certified Internationally Associated Yoga Therapist, and a Continuing Education Service Provider through the Yoga Alliance. Stillness is not something we can do, only something we can be. Join us!
Let’s BE in stillness together, and experience the true magic of this practice of slowing down and listening to our bodies.

“The body is as young as the spine is old.” The health of our spine is a measure of how we are aging. The spine is our sacred, central channel. The importance of spinal stability and suppleness cannot be overlooked for our overall posture and health.
In this workshop class, we will discuss repetitive movements and sedentary lifestyles that diminish our spinal health. We will practice targeted yoga poses with awareness to better understand our individual spines, and how to move to keep them in the best health possible.
