Looking to deepen your knowledge of Yoga?  Perhaps you’ve grown curious about postures, alignment and anatomy.  Or maybe you’ve become interested in history, philosophy and the evolution of Yoga.   Soul Space is home to Soul Purpose 200 hour YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) program.  Every body and every ability level is welcome to join the training….The only requirements are having an open mind and an open heart! The program is offered several times throughout the year.  Contact us for matriculations dates. There are modules of study that will deepen your understanding, knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology
  • Chakras, Energetic Anatomy
  • Asana, Sequencing, Mudras, Physical practice/Alignment
  • Philosophy, Wisdom Teachings, History and Ethics
  • Sanskrit
  • Pranayama, Meditation, Mantras
  • Practicum

Our teachers, program and curriculum are Yoga Alliance Certified. Upon completion of the requirements, students will be RYT200 certified.  Below are the requirements:

  • Completion of required Modules A-D
  • 180 Contact Hours:
      • Anatomy & Physiology (20 hours)
      • Teaching Techniques, Training & Practice (90 hours)
      • Teaching Methodology (20 hours)
      • Philosophy, History & Ethics (20 hours)
      • Practicum and feedback on teaching (30 hours)
      • 20 Non-Contact Hours – Independent reading/writing & chapter review work
  • Submission of 44 journal entries reflecting on class observations
  • Submission of answers to Chapter Reviews Questions
  • 3 successfully led (1) hour practicum/signature sequence
  • Submission of narrative/reflection paper referencing How Yoga Works

Tuition is $2950 to be paid in full 4 days prior to the start of Module A.  Tuition includes free classes and meditation sessions for 8 months of training to assist with the required 44 observations. A $550 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot.  Tuition is non-refundable after training has commenced.  Payment plans are as follows:

$3,500 in two payments ($1,750 by April 20th and $1,750 by July 16th)
$3,900 in multiple payments ($1,800 by April 20th and $300 for 7 months due on the first Friday of each month)

A discount of $150 is available to Soul Space members with current packages!  All packages paid in advance will be paused and will resume on November 23rd.

If part of a module is missed, the student will be permitted to attend that session during the next matriculation or make up hours during the weekends without scheduled sessions at a cost of $50/hour.

Asana, Sequencing, Mudras, Physical practice/Alignment

  • Basic yoga Asanas-alignment, benefits, contraindications
  • Understanding Vinyasa (linking movement to breath) / Sun Salutations A&B
  • Inversions-Krama (preparatory stages) of Headstand/Handstand/Shoulderstand/Crow, Crane, Firefly and more
  • Principles of Ashtanga (Primary Series), Yin Yoga, Vinyasa and Restorative
  • Creating a sequence with a theme and flow
  • Sequencing:  Understanding the placement of poses in sequence for maximum benefit and safety
  • Environment (use of music, essential oils, singing bowls, the harmonium, etc.)
  • Energetic Assists versus Hands-on Assists
  • Using straps, bolsters, wedges, blocks and other tools for modifications and safer alignment
  • Styles of Learning (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) and reaching all learning styles

  • Yoga Sutras and the Eight Limbs of Yoga
  • Yoga On and Off the Mat (Yamas and Niyamas)
  • Nutrition for the Yogic Lifestyle; Vegan vs/ Vegetarian
  • Healthy Student/Teacher Relationships; Business Aspects of yoga
  • Karma (awareness of our thoughts, words an actions) and its impact of our spiritual journey
  • Suffering through attachment (the Gunas) and The Five Afflictions (Kleshas)
